What is a Playstation?

A playstation is a machine built and sold to play video games. It is usually connected to a TV through HDMI cable and it is powered by a power supply. Modern playstations also double as theatres, being able to play movies from DVD and stream online content and web browsers, ECT.

The PlayStation (Japanese: , Hepburn: Pureisuteshiyon) is a series of home video game consoles developed and marketed by Sony Computer Entertainment. First released in December 1994, the PlayStation signalled a dramatic rise in Sony’s position in the video gaming world. Its acclaim and impressive sales, led to a series of successor consoles and a line of related devices and services. The original PlayStation used compact discs, heralding the industry’s move away from cartridges. It was also designed with 3D polygon graphics as its primary focus, and the system pushed the boundaries of video game technology in a way that no other console had done before.

The PS5 takes a major step forward from the PS4. With a refreshed UI, blazing SSD-fueled load times and cutting-edge graphics techniques like ray tracing, it feels like a new console from a different generation. It also reliably runs most of the PS4 library with improved fidelity, framerates and loading speeds, and backward compatibility makes it easy to add the classics to your collection.
