The PlayStation 5 Pro – The Best PlayStation Yet

When the PlayStation first launched in September 1995, it was a sensation. It was the fastest-selling console at launch and dominated sales against Sega’s Saturn and Nintendo’s Super NES. The original PlayStation used a 32-bit MIPS CPU and was CD-ROM based. The PlayStation 2 and 3 used a more advanced CPU and had a DVD drive.

The PlayStation 5 Pro is Sony’s most recent console and the best PlayStation yet. It delivers ultra high-definition video and framerates, ray tracing, and other sophisticated graphics techniques. It also reliably runs a large library of games with improvements to fidelity and performance.

In terms of physical design, the PS5 Pro is a workhorse that can handle the most demanding games on the market. Its lopsided design is reminiscent of fancy computer towers, but it’s not unwieldy or ugly enough to dominate a room’s aesthetics. It does, however, occupy a lot of vertical space on a shelf or table.

Like other consoles of its era, the PS5 Pro has one Hi-Speed USB Type-C port on the front for charging controllers and a port for an external hard drive (the eject button is next to this instead of above it as is the case with other recent PlayStation consoles). The back houses two more Hi-Speed USB Type-C ports, an HDMI 2.1 port, and Ethernet. There’s no optical audio out, but a headphone jack is included. The PS5 Pro is a great console for anyone who’s obsessed with gaming, wants to be at the cutting edge of console technology, or simply wants the best possible experience from their existing PlayStation games.
