Playstation – A Video Game Console

PlayStation is the world’s most popular video game console. Released by Sony in 1994, it used compact discs (CDs) to play games and competed against Nintendo’s super Nintendo and Sega’s Saturn.

In contrast to other video game consoles, PlayStation features a unique control system called SIXAXIS. It consists of a set of buttons that are configured to perform specific and distinctive actions when pressed, and a series of metal disks beneath each button. The disks are pushed into contact with two strips of conductive material on the circuit board inside the controller, triggering a sequence of events that sends data to the CPU and triggers the appropriate response in the game software for that button.

The PS5 aims to bridge the gap between the last generation of PlayStation consoles and the new ones, with big upgrades like faster NVMe SSDs and powerful GPUs that enable higher frame rates and 4K resolutions with ray tracing. But it also makes subtle improvements — things that aren’t immediately obvious, but can make a big difference to the way you enjoy your favorite games.

What’s more, the PS5 is available in a variety of configurations ranging from the base model to the top-of-the-line Pro. The most basic tier is the PlayStation Plus Essential plan, which includes online play, 100GB of cloud game save storage, exclusive game discounts and Share Play. The Pro plan costs $15 a month or $100 a year, and gives access to all of the features above plus online multiplayer, up to 4K gaming, and a growing list of game DLC.
